Description
The only bilingual academic journal in China, Contemporary Dance Research, has integrated academic resources, improved the level of disciplines, and built an academic exchange platform for Chinese and foreign dance researchers.In recent years, the college has successfully held many famous large-scale academic activities at home and abroad, which has improved the overall level of dance discipline construction; has undertaken the performance tasks of major events such as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the 2014 Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. and the 45th World Vocational Skills Competition; has visited more than 60 countries and regions, contributing to the promotion of Chinese excellent culture to the world and the promotion of cross-cultural exchange of art. In 2023 the institute hosted international scholars in the celebration of the International Dance Day at Shanghai Theatre Academy and its affiliated research and artistic centres.
In 2022, Contemporary Dance Research was selected into the AMI Core Journal list, which led by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies (CASSES). It is one of the most prestigious core journal dictionaries in the academic community in China. For two consecutive years, our journal has been honored as the ‘Most Popular Art Studies Journal’ by the National Center for Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation (NCPSSD). Our readership, download numbers, and overall influence have been steadily increasing.
