Description
My collaboration with the interdisciplinary research team at the Wellcome Hub, led by neuropsychologist Professor Sebastian Crutch included a Participatory Dances 'research clinic' at the Wellcome Collection during 2018. This interdisciplinary knowledge transfer extended the Wellcome team’s portfolio. The research was carried out using neuropsychological observational techniques including 360 camera and Empatica E4 sensors. The techniques for exploratory evaluation captured minute changes (e.g. foot tapping, eye flickering) that might be missed by a human observer. This aspect of my research will enable my dance/choreographic and DMP work to contribute to current evidence on the value of these interventions for all those involved and improve future dance and DMP- related activities for people living with the dementias. Findings from this strand of research will contribute to my forthcoming book, Moving Kinship.
