Description
Active participation in (contemporary) dance education can potentially strengthen one’s soft skills. Funded by the EU Erasmus+ programme, the projectEmpowering Dance – The Soft Skills Teaching and Learning Approach – and Learning Approach is developing a digital handbook that enables dance-makers to include the facilitation of soft skills in their artistic or teaching practice.Seven European partners – Centro per la Scena Contemporanea (IT), Dansateliers (NL), HIPP (HR), K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg (DE), La Briqueterie CDCN (FR), University of Roehampton (UK), Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb (HR) – are building on the results of the previous project,Empowering Dance – Developing Soft Skills.
The digital handbook is intended to encourage dance-makers to become aware of their knowledge and abilities in the facilitation of soft skills in (non-)professional dancers, so as to be able to use them actively, to improve the articulation of their own teaching approach and to apply them to areas outside dance.
This workshop will introduce the central themes and the current version of the digital handbook, which will be published in autumn 2022. Participants will then divide into three groups to explore concrete project modules practically. The resulting feedback will support the further development of the handbook.
