This invited provocation was given as part of 'Re-search: Returns and accumulations in creative and theoretical processes', Kingston University 2021. Eleanor Roberts will interrogate concepts of authenticity in archival research. Particularly, she will discuss speculative, automythological and decentred performance practices which enact active politics of refusal – and how they may brush up against the fraught terrain of so-called 'post-truth'. The provocation centres on a reading of Onyeka Igwe's film 'a so-called archive' (2020).
