This is a paper presentation to the Learning and Teaching Festival 2023 ‘Enabling Student Success: SHARING GOOD PRACTICE, organised by Learning, Teaching and Enhancement Unit, University of Roehampton.

The presentation aims to explore the role of a democratic critical pedagogy underpinned by the Froebelian and Freirean thinking in enabling students’ transformative learning experience in higher education (HE) and reflect on implications for HE pedagogy linking to education for sustainability in the 21st century. It is hoped to create space for open dialogues among student learners, academics and researchers in addressing and sustaining the environmental, economic, political and social justices for harmonious co-existence and co-living between human beings, non-human beings and the planet earth.
