Activity: Public engagement and outreach › Workshop and other training
Description
In response to the Covid-19 national lockdown, I initiated a collaborative, public-facing research project to produce an open access digital edition of William Stukeley's five-volume Memoirs of the Royal Society, now in the SGS archive. I trained a team of 40 volunteers to transcribe, edit, research and annotate Stukeley's manuscript text; and created a website to facilitate the work. The project will result in the release of a 'reading text' accompanied by high-resolution page scans of the manuscript; and the publication of an open access digital scholarly edition of the complete text in 2021.
