Waste Stories: Detritus, Radical Politics, and Class in the 21st Century

Activity: Talk or presentation for an academic audienceInvited talk for an academic audience

Description

Talk to Birkbeck's English literature postgraduate students (who come from across the UK) about my first book (on waste) and my forthcoming monograph (on appliances). I used these projects as a springboard for discussing the rhetoric of waste and fascist nostalgia to examine precarity, the devaluation of the humanities, and classism in contemporary culture.
