This workshop is part of the BERA Brian Simon Grant funded research project 'Shifting youthenvironmental activism from the public imagination to community engagement: Implications for education for sustainability in the 21st century''.
Dr Karen O'Brien-Kop from Kings College did a guest speaker session on Hindu and Buddhist ways of caring for the environment. Children as participants were encouraged to reflect on the connections between human beings and the natural world including plants, trees, mountains and rivers via poems and images from religious perspectives.
