Activity: Public engagement and outreach › Workshop and other training
Description
The workshop is designed as a roundtable discussion with experts and practitioners from different backgrounds, including representatives of academia, civil society, government, private sector, financial institutions and the UN. The event is by invitation only and limited to around 20 experts and practitioners in order to foster dynamic in- depth exchange. It is an opportunity for the intended audience (consisting principally of businesses) and other stakeholders, such as international organisations, civil society and academia, to provide inputs that will be used in drafting the toolkit. The workshop will be opened and moderated by UNDP. The workshop aims at identifying, clarifying and discussing the key parameters which should be included in an effective Toolkit on Heightened Human Rights Due Diligence for business in, or conflict-affected settings aligned to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The discussions are based on an outline for such a toolkit that will be shared with participants prior to the event.
