Description of impact
Since 2022 I have advised Spalding Gentlemen's Society (SGS) on the development of successive strategic and business plans, as well as a master plan for its £10m capital development project. I am the lead writer of the SGS Business Plan and associated documentation for 2023-2027. My work has led to a restructuring of the SGS's management, staff, facilities use and public engagement practices and policies. SGS has extended its activities from an exclusively local to an international focus via hybrid and digital-first events, the formation of KE and research networks, and the expansion of its membership offer and communications strategies. Following a 2-year process of applications and interviews based on my work on the SGS's collections, Arts Council England awarded the SGS 'Original Collection' Designation, marking it as a collection of national importance and an essential resource for research on the history of museums, collections, antiquarianism and the Enlightenment in Britain.Category of impact | Cultural impact, Impact on practice |
