Biography

I am currently a senior lecturer in Accounting (which is equivalent to Associate Professor in some universities).  Over the past 22 years that I have worked in higher education institutions and in accounting, auditing and tax practice, I have amassed extensive expertise in producing high quality research outputs, leading and motivating teams, developing new programmes and modules, and providing administrative leadership.

I hold a PhD in Accounting from the Royal Holloway, University of London, where I won a scholarship to pursue my PhD research. I also hold an MSc in Accounting (with merit) from the University of Essex and a professional accountancy qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA). I am a member of this prestigious and internationally recognised professional accountancy body. I have acquired considerable subject expertise in the area of management accounting, financial accounting, auditing and assurance, and performance management, by working in consultancy practices internationally.

My research outputs in the areas of accountability, governance and performance management have been published in internationally refereed high quality academic journals (As per the Australian Business Deans Council & Association of Business School journal quality lists). I am keen to engage in and supervise research projects which have relevance to the practitioner community, in addition to academia.
