Biography

Anita's current role is Deputy Head of POSE (People, Organisation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship). She is also the Programme Convenor for Human Resource Management (HRM) and Business Management and Entrepreneurship (BME).  She continues to supervise dissertation students at both Undergraduate and Master's level in a number of universities such as Surrey, Greenwich and Roehampton to successful completion.

Anita's professional practice has been developed through working in senior leadership roles in City Law firms and continues to be utilised in a number of voluntary and consultancy roles. She is also a certificated union caseworker.  

Anita's teaching interests are focused on business aspects with a particular interest in human resource management and a specialism in employment law having gained a certificate in this area.  She is also the Module Convenor for the Managing People and Careers (MPC) which is a year two (Level 5) subject and compliments her extensive knowledge of HRM.  

As well as her love of teaching Anita is passionate about working within the community helping those less fortunate.  She is currently a governor at a local school governor where she provides advice on HRM, H&S and more  recently mental health matters for which she is suitably trained.  She also supports an annual careers advisory event whereby she promotes the potential of students and how to think about their careers and maximise their opportunities for work experience.  In 2016 Anita's volunteering work within the community together with the support and encouragement from her students, who cited her as an inspirational teacher and role model, was recognised with a MBE Queen's honour.

Anita is the Chair of the CIPD South London Branch which requires her to lead, organise and develop relevant, appropriate HR events throughout the year. In particular, she is responsible for organising the Annual Employment Law update which she has organised for the past 10 years and is consistently oversubscribed.
