Biography
Bari Malik is an Applied Physicist by training with a diverse career spanning both academic and commercial sectors across Europe, Russia, Ukraine, the CIS, Middle East and South Asia. His expertise lies in the intersection of education, entrepreneurship and international business development.
Since April 2024, Bari has been an Advisor to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and sits on UKPAC, where he sits on UKPAC and advises on strategic initiatives and policy matters. He was also appointed to the Enterprise Educators UK Advisory Board in September 2024, where he plays a key role in shaping the future of entrepreneurship education in the UK.
At the University of Roehampton, Bari is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and the Founder of The Business Laboratory, an innovative platform that encourages business creation and entrepreneurship among students.
His academic influence extends beyond Roehampton; he is also a Visiting Professor and Senior Research Fellow at the National Centre for Maritime Policy Research at Bahria University and Honorary Fellow at NIMA.
Bari has previously held academic positions at the University of Greenwich, Oxford Brookes University and Regents University and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in the UK, reflecting his commitment to advancing social and economic progress.
In addition to his academic roles, Bari has extensive experience in the commercial sector. Since 2016, he has been a Consultant to Crowd for Angels, a British crowdfunding platform regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. He provides strategic advice on business development in emerging markets and supports companies in raising capital through equity and debt instruments. Since 2011, Bari has served as a Board Advisor to Quality and Assessments International (UK) Ltd, working closely with CEO John Kerr (formerly CEO of Pearson/Edexcel). In this role, he advises on qualifications, curriculum support, and regulatory compliance to ensure the validity and recognition of QAI qualifications.
Bari has also held senior management roles at the ITE Group Plc (now Hyve Group Plc), including Technical Director for ITE Travel Exhibitions, where he oversaw a flagship portfolio of international travel and tourism events. As Director for South Asia, he was instrumental in establishing joint ventures and sales agencies in the region, forging high-level relationships with governmental and commercial stakeholders.
