Catherine Lewis is a Counselling Psychologist with a specialism in Clinical Neuropsychology. She is also an accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapist (DIT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), bringing a rich and integrative approach to psychological care.
Catherine is the Programme Leader for the NHS-funded Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy. The programme is at the forefront of efforts to expand access to relational therapies within primary care, reflecting Catherine’s strong commitment to evidence-based, psychodynamic approaches.
Catherine also contributes to the training of future psychologists and therapists through her teaching on the Professional Doctorate (PsychD) in Counselling Psychology and various undergraduate psychology programmes. Her research interests span protocol-driven therapies, clinical outcomes, and service evaluations—particularly in the context of substance misuse.
Her current research collaborations explore the psychology of consciousness, with a particular focus on the phenomenology of dreams and precognitive experiences. This work reflects her broader interest in the interface between science, subjectivity, and therapeutic meaning-making.
