Personal profile


Christiaan is a post-doctorate teaching fellow at the Roehampton Business School. In 2016, he was awarded a (fully-funded) Vice Chancellor’s PhD scholarship in International Business Strategy at the University of Roehampton. His research focuses on the strategies the foreign subsidiaries of multinational enterprises (MNE) adopt to manage challenges in emerging markets. The title of his doctoral thesis is: ‘Internationalisation through a network of relationships: Local perspectives from Dutch MNE subsidiaries in Indonesia’. The key question his research addresses is: How do MNEs survive and thrive in the challenging business environments of emerging markets? Prior to his appointment at Roehampton, Christiaan worked in various roles in real estate, logistics and customer service in Europe and Southeast Asia.
