I am a Roman Catholic, lay woman theologian, committed to teaching and research in the areas of ecclesioogy, sacramental theology and practical theology, and with a particular concern for working theologically in ways that contribute to ministerial formation and church life and mission. Having completed my doctorate under the supervision of Professor Stephen Sykes, in 1990, I juggled pastoral and theological work with raising our four children. During this time I was lucky enough to work pastorally as a lay assistant in parish and student chaplaincy ministries, and to develop teaching and research at Margaret Beaufort Institue of Theology, in the Cambridge Theological Federation, (Vice Pricnipal and Director of Studies) and at Allen Hall, the Westminster Catholic seminary. A major part of recent work has been with the Heythrop Institue (http://www.heythrop.ac.uk/organisation/research/heythrop-institute-religion-society) where I have worked with James Sweeney, Helen Cameron and Cath Duce in the development of Theological Action Research (the ARCS project), and, most recently, on the Visions for Educational Leadership project.

I have worked with a wide range of church providers of adult formation, as well as with agencies of the Catholic Bishops; Conferences of England and Wales. In particular, the areas of mission and evangelisation, and ecumenism, as well as education and formation, have been central. Recent work with the Marriage and Family Life Agency of the Bishops' Conference, and with the charity Marriage Care, is developing theological consultancy work around the questions of marriage and family life in our contemporary context.
