Declan Scully is a Senior Lecturer in the Business School. Prior to joining the business school he spent almost twenty years in the financial services sector both in the UK and in the US. This included periods working for major insurance companies and investment banks. He also set up and ran a broking firm in the City of London. Whilst working in investment banking he developed research interests in several areas: natural resources and power; cross-border M&A involving Chinese companies and FDI generally; emerging clean technologies and sovereign wealth funds.
Declan completed a Doctor of Business Administration degree at Kingston University. His thesis developed and tested a model that applied transaction cost economics and relational exchange theory to marketing relationships in the UK automotive sector.
His research interests focus on (1) Transition Students and Early Career Academics, and (2) Digital Innovation and its impact on entrepreneurship and marketing.
He is a regular presenter at academic conferences.
Declan welcomes opportunities to discuss possible research collaboration.
