Biography

André Slowak, PhD, conducts multidisciplinary research in themes of global innovation. He is an Associate Professor in Management and leads the function of Innovation & Enterprise as Head/Faculty SMT member. That includes work with entrepreneurs from various countries, collaboration with business corporations and work with SMEs.

André’s expertise stems from business consulting, trained banker (commercial, real estate, private banking, investment, stocks), and from work in the UK, Germany, Eastern Europe, Canada, China, India and Japan.

His findings are presented at international conferences, amongst others, Academy of Management (US); British Academy of Management; European Academy of Management; European Meeting on Applied Evolutionary Economics; UK Regional Studies Association; as well as industry congresses, e.g., Electronics Goes Green.

André features about 20 years of experience in directing international business and management curricula, has supervised PhD students and led international postgraduate programme teams in the UK and in Germany.

He holds a PhD from the University of Hohenheim at Stuttgart, and a double degree corresponding to MBA and MSc from TU Dortmund University, Germany. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
