Biography

Dr Evelyn W Corrado is a Senior Lecturer at Froebel College in the School of Education. She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Dr Corrado uses a multidisciplinary approach in her teaching and research. She has a PhD in Education, MSc and BSc (hons) in Psychology, and a diploma in Food Technology.

Previously, Dr Corrado worked in UK Mental Health Sector for almost ten years and later as an academic tutor at Middlesex University for four years (in the BA Education program).

Dr Corrado grew up in Kenya and has a tremedous social-cultural understanding of the African context which informs her teaching and research work. In the last decade, she has continued to use her expertise to impact communities in the UK, Kenya and other parts of the globe.

Current Research Projects

 'Exploring experiences of students and staff in Higher Education Institutions during Covid-19 Pandemic' (2022).The research principal investigator is Dr Evelyn Corrado, and co-investigator Dr Fengling Tang. 

 

'Exploring Barriers to Africans parental involvement in UK Education system' (2023).  This research project is led by Dr Evelyn Corrado (RU) in collaboration with KCR-UK ( Kenya Community Rebuild-UK). Research funded by Southlands Methodist Trust.
