Hanna came to London from Sweden to study dance at London Contemporary Dance School in 1991. Graduating in 1994 with a BA Honours Degree she started off performing in Germany, Belgium and the UK with among others choreographers Michele Noiret, Yael Flexer, Jamie Watton and Istoc Kovac. Since 1999, Hanna has co directed H2DANCE together with Heidi Rustgaard, creating more then 20 works together. They were Associate artists at The Place 2001/02.

In 2005 she collaborated with film- maker Rachel Davies on GOLD that won the IMZ Dance on Screen Award 2005, touring internationally for several years. Hanna was commissioned by Norrdans in 2002 and created Storstark Cowboy on the company, LUDUS in 2003, and The Place in 2005, a film and choreography production in collaboration with film maker Gemma Burditt. H2DANCE was commissioned by Guardians of Doubt and Dance4 to make Choreographus Interruptus with Dance Critic Donald Hutera in 2004.

2012 they were selected for the PlacePrize semifinals with DUET, which won them the audience vote at the finals in April 2013. H2DANCE is still touring DUET as well their intergenerational work Staging Ages. They are currently developing a new work in Scandinavia and the UK titled 'Strangers and Others'. The work will premiere autumn 2017 with performances in the UK and Norway.

Hanna has also delivered commissions for DanceDigital, North Kent Local Authority Arts Partnership,The Victoria & Albert and Natural History Museums in London and choreographed for students at London Contemporary Dance School, CAT (centre for advanced training)and Fanclub Dance. Hanna has taken up artist residencies at Dansens Hus Stockholm, Liikelaituri Finland, Dansit, Union Scene and Scenerommet in Norway, Region Varmland Sweden, Pavilion Dance, Dance East, DanceDigital in Essex, The Place Choreodrome, Metal and Dance4 in the UK, Devir CAPa, (Centro de Artes Performativas do Algarve) in Portugal and Gaara Dance Foundation in Kenya.

She regularly teaches workshops and professional classes in the UK, Sweden and Norway in a variety of contexts ranging from children to professionals.
She has taken part in research projects and workshops with Jonathan Burrows, Guy Dartnell, Meg Stuart, Linn Snelling and Guy Cools.

2019:  Presentation on festival curation at Milano Dancehaus2016-17: Strangers and Others, a performance without performers, where the audience are protagonists. The work is based on strangers meeting for the first time, negotiating presumptions, judgments, trust, collaboration and intimacy. Research and development funded by Nordic Culture Fund, region Varmland and Arts Council England. Production 2017 funded by Norwegian Arts council and ACE (tbc). Performances in the UK, Norway and Sweden summer and autumn 2017.
2015: STAGING AGES, an intergenerational work looking at the generation gap; norms and taboos, dignity, expectations and prejudices. A co- production with Riksteatern Sweden. Premiered in Karlstad 22^nd May 2015.Research and creation supported by Arts Council England, Sweden and Norway and Region Varmland, Sweden. Coproduced by: Dansit Trondheim Norway, Pavilion Dance Bournmouth, Danceeast, Ipswich, The Place London UK.

2013: DUET, developed from the Place Prize Commission 2013. Full -length piece premiered Autumn 2013. 2011: Say Something, UK and Scandinavian Tour 2011/12
A collaboration with amateur choirs, 4 dancers and composer Sylvia Hallett. A singing/movement performance investigates group behaviour and freedom of expression within groups. Say Something was performed at 3e våningen Gothenburg and Södra Teatern, Stockholm November 2011. The work premiered at The Place, London February 2011. It was performed at Scenehuset Oslo (children’s version), as a SHIFT commission at The Place (children’s version), Vaasa, Finland January 2014, Oslo and Trondheim, Norway, May 2012, BIGdance, July 2012 and Edinburgh Fringe Festival/Escalator East to Edinburgh August 12. A quintet, looking at extremism and manipulation techniques. Co produced by Hedmark Teater, Norway with additional support from Swedish Arts Council, Värmland’s Opera, Sweden and Laban and Greenwich Dance Agency in London and The Royal Norwegian Embassy.

2007: One, premiered at The Place Theatre, Swedish tour

2005: På Gränsen, Resident at the Värmland’s Opera House. A full evening show celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Norway’s independence of Sweden 1905. The piece looks at nationalism, group psychology and peoples need to belong. The work was performed by five dancers, two singers/actors and two live musicians. Touring Norway and Sweden, co - produced by Dans i Värmland and Värmland’s Opera.

2004: Silent Movie. A duet themed around film noir and the glamorisation of violence. Supported by Laban, Arts Council England and the Swedish Embassy. Performed at Alsager Arts Centre, Laban, Moderna Dansteatern, Stockholm, The Place, Yorkshire Dance Centre and Croyden Clocktower.

2011: ON/OFF A site-specific work created in collaboration with arts/architect practice What if: projects. Working with local dance groups in Kent, we took over a vacant shop in Chatham to create a mini dance festival based on ideas around energy consumption. Commissioned by nklaap.
