In 2015 I joined the University of Roehampton in order to develop my teaching and research interests in the area of psychotherapy, and in particular person-centred/humanistic therapies. Here, I am a member of the research group CREST, leading the themes: Working with voices, visions and experiences of presence; and Empowering children and young people. I am also director of the CREST Therapy and Research Clinic and acting deputy director of CREST. Prior to this I worked as a (mostly) qualitative researcher and MSc supervisor at the Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families (2013-2015), leading qualitative evaluation research on national projects of child mental health service interventions and a pediatric care safety initiative known as the SAFE project. At the Centre I worked across two units; the Evidence-Based Practice Unit (UCL/AFC) and Postgraduate Studies (UCL/AFC). In terms of my own studies and training, I completed a PhD in Psychology in 2011 under the supervision and guidance of Professor Ivan Leudar and Professor Wes Sharrock in the Department of Psychology at the University of Manchester. In between and in parallel with academic posts I have pursured practice interests in person-centred and experiential psychotherapies in private practice and voluntary organisations.
