Biography

Dr Jennifer Melvin is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Human Rights. Her research interests include: genocide; post-conflict reconciliation; human rights protection and international development. Prior to joining the university, she conducted ethnographic research in the Great Lakes Region of Africa with a particular focus on Rwanda . This research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and a monograph. Her current research focuses on the construction of political and economic relationships between donor states and the countries receiving bilateral aid.
