Biography

Dr Jennifer Melvin is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Human Rights. Her research interests include: UK aid and climate policy; Aid for Trade; UK-Africa development and diplomatic relationships; remittances; SDGs; and post-conflict/post-genocide reconciliation and reconstruction.

 

Prior to joining the university, she conducted ethnographic research in the Great Lakes Region of Africa with a particular focus on Rwanda . This research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and a monograph. Her current research focuses on the voice and participation of marginalized peoples and African CSOs at COP26 and COP27.
