Jerome Boyd Maunsell

I am a writer, biographer and critic, with a particular interest in the interactions between fiction and life-writing: autobiography, diary, letters, memoir, reportage, travel, war writing and other forms. My first book, a biography of Susan Sontag, was published by Reaktion Books in the Critical Lives series in 2014. My second book, a group biography entitled Portraits from Life, was published by Oxford University Press in 2018. I am a former Books Editor of frieze, and my essays and reviews have been published in the Evening Standard, Financial Times, frieze, Guardian, Literary Review, and the TLS.
