Biography
Jian Bakir is a PhD candidate in the School of Education, having commenced her studies in 2022. Under the supervision of Dr. Debora Sabric and Dr. Evelyn Corrado, her research focuses on the impact of the Syrian conflict on teaching and learning processes. Mrs Bakir possesses a strong academic background, holding a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Roehampton, UK, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Social Science from St Mary's University, UK. Her current research primarily investigates the experiences of primary school teachers in Syria during the pre-conflict, conflict, and post-conflict periods, aiming to understand the multifaceted effects of war on educational practices.
