Biography
- Registered dual qualified nurse mental health and learning disability nurse with experience working at Band 7 level in both fields.
- Accomplished Nurse Lecturer with Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (2015).
- 7 years lecturing experience in 2 different Higher Education Settings.
- I have a passion and enthusiasm for teaching of students, service uses, carers, and other health professionals using the principles of Knowles (1968).
- Advocates a person centred approach to student learning and support.
- Experience in student assessment, marking and moderation process.
- Experience in module leadership at undergraduate level, and post graduate level.
- Engagement and interest in expert by experience in involvement in curriculum development of co-produced teaching sessions within Higher Education Settings.
- Effective passionate communicator with excellent planning, organizational, and negotiation strengths as well as the ability to lead, reach consensus, establish goals, and attain results.
- On-going desire to develop and influence future educational policies, and policies affecting vulnerable service users in society.
- Keen interest in parity of esteem and the bi-directional association between physical health and mental health.
- Keen interest in development of allyship skills and promotion of marginalised groups in society.

Research interests
I have a keen interest in care escalation for people with severe/profound disabilities living within a residential care setting.
Parallel to this area I have a keen interest in the experiences of support workers in residential care settings.
I also have an interest in researching how nursing students who require resonable adjustments (Equality Act, 2010) have their needs met within the clinical practice setting.
Finally, I have a keen interest in identity development for dual registered nurses inclusive of career trajectory choosen career pathways.
