Dr Phevos Kallitsis

I am an Associate Professor in Architecture at Roehampton University's Sustainable Engineering and Technology Education Center (SETEC), with responsibility for learning and teaching, quality assurance, and curriculum development. Trained as an Architect Engineer at the National Technical University of Athens, I worked internationally in architectural and interior design before moving into academia. I have extensive experience in course leadership, programme accreditation, and educational enhancement, and I hold a Senior Fellowship of the HEA. Alongside leadership, I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise doctoral research, and contribute to sector bodies including RIBA, ARB, and Athena SWAN.

My research explores the intersections of architecture, visual culture, and social issues, with a focus on how spatial design is shaped by gender, sexuality, memory, and the body. I have published on topics ranging from queer spatialities and dementia care environments to design pedagogy and visual culture. I was co-investigator on the EU Interreg 2 Seas project Plasticity, which developed community engagement methods and sustainable approaches to material reuse. I have co-edited a special issue on queer spatialities and supervise doctoral research across interdisciplinary themes in architecture and the built environment.
