Biography
A multimedia journalist by training, Ping was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Sussex prior to joining Roehampton. He obtained a PhD from King's College London which focuses on the Chinese party-state's innovative use of Internet technologies.
After spending his early journalism career in Hong Kong, he joined the BBC World Service in London in 2004. At the BBC he covers mainly international affairs and politics including interviewed the Dalai Lama in India and indigenous people in the Amazon.
Ping was a Research Fellow at the Central European University in Budapest. He hold Master's degrees from the University of Cambridge and the Australian National University, and a BA in International Journalism from China.
