Biography

I am currently an Associate Professor and the Head of the People Organisation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship (POSE) subject area. I am responsible for the resourcing and quality of the modules in the POSE subject area. I have considerable experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating modules in human resources management as well as Business Management. I have designed a module to support and guide level 4 students and introduced a peer coaching approach to introduce and develop coaching skills for first years.

 

A very experienced and skilled senior human resources and organisational development professional, with substantial experience gained in a variety of roles in large public sector organisations.  This includes an extensive knowledge of further education and social care employment and development needs coupled with sound HR skills centred on providing an excellent and improving service to users and clients.

 

A track record of aligning the HR and development strategy to the business agenda. A high achiever, excelling within challenging environments, able to quickly establish credibility and effective relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders.  Qualified mediator and experienced in the management of conflict. Experienced in employee relations and trade union negotiation.

 

Evidenced history of continual development and implementation of effective HR and OD strategies that are aligned to the content and business of organisations. I have considerable experience of Human Resources strategy, policy and operations and organisational development.

 

An equalities and employment specialist.  Specific experience in embedding equalities into the framework of organisations for example strategic and business planning, employment strategies and policies, community development and equality audit and assessment. I have experience of coaching mentoring and group facilitation., and I have used this in the development of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion module developed for post graduate students.
