Confession is good for the soul? Practices of confession in charismatic evangelical networks in the UK

Project Details

Description

The aim of the project is to reflect theologically on practices of confession within charismatic evangelical networks in the UK. For phase 1, this will be limited to fieldwork with network leaders.

Layman's description

This project focusses on charismatic evangelical churches that typically do not have formal forms of liturgy. What forms of confession are there in public worship and in private? Does confession extend to confessing to one another? What is the effect of such practices? Fieldwork will take the form of interviews with network leaders in its first phase.
