Toolkit for Jurors

Project Details

Description

The jury system stands as a cornerstone of the English
common law tradition. It is based on the rationale that
jurors would be impartial in reaching their verdict. It
assumes that each juror has an equal voice and whose
views on the criminal case are equally considered. This
collaborative project aims to produce findings that consider
power dynamics within the room as well as notions of social
influence and pressure. Research on mock jury deliberations
has led to the production of this tool kit, for specific use by
jurors and those who manage the jury service.
