Layman's description
The aim of this research is to improve athletes’ ability to return to play after an Achilles Tendon Rupture. This injury causes athletes to lose strength in their lower limb and this affects how they move. As a result, they often do not return to play or if they do, they don’t play at the same level as before the injury. This body of research will objectively assess participants' musculoskeletal capacity following Achilles Tendon (AT) repair in order to (i) identify biomechanical variables that associate with outcomes (ii) optimise post operative rehabilitation to improve return to play outcomes.
