Abstract

This video is filmed at the coordinates 63° 24’ 10” N 19° 6’ 49” W, a mesmerising black stone beach in Iceland, where the noises of stones, rocks and waves create an atmosphere of quietness.The video is one of a series of screendances filmed in Iceland, applying embodied research methods and site specific creation methods to explore how geography, sites and locations trigger emotions. These artefacts become visual and aural poems that capture the atmosphere of a space aiming to communicate humanity and reconnecting the viewer to their senses and mind.The screendance has been invited to a range of international festivals. It was also part of a bigger installation including four other screendances by Salts (created in 2010) which were invited to Public Art Screens, i/o/lab Senter for Framtidskunst-Centre for Future Art, Stavanger, Norway, where Salts where artists of the months in August 2015.
