A Brief Flight with Dramaturgical Thrusters: A Performance of Dramaturgy at Work

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

A version of this piece of critical performance writing was originally presented live at a roundtable discussion at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London as part of the research project Dramaturgy at Work. Embedded in the text are three questions that were offered to participants in the roundtable by conveners of the project (and editors of the book in which this text is featured). The writing offers only a partial response to each of them, engaging strategies of inefficiency in order that its words might claim proximity to uncertainty, interference and misdirection. These words take on dramaturgy as a term and practice through which to respond to the actions of the questions posed.
