Abstract
This paper presents its authors’ responses to ‘Brexit’ (the term coined to capture the possibility that the United Kingdom [UK] might choose to ‘exit’ the European Union [EU] as a result of the advisory referendum of 23 June 2016). The paper maps the background to the referendum and offers a dialogue about Brexit and what it means for women both in and (particularly) beyond the UK. The authors’ personal narratives of their reactions to the vote outcome are interwoven to reflect on what kind of EU is being created as result of the UK’s departure.
