Abstract

This is a paper presentation to History of Education Society conference, Birmingham University, December 2005. This paper is a systematic review of educational equity issues in Chinese context focusing on key debates, research gap and promises arising in enhancing equity esp. for children's schooling and education in rural areas in China.
