Abstract
Introducing this special issue of Granta on The Politics of Feeling, the piece looks at the way in which the current politics are so full of feeling in both a potentially destructive way - raging and irrational subjectivity but also a hopeful way, in that feelings are a kind of protest of the body summoning parts of ourselves that seem foreign, strange or dubious. That is, those who seem to differ from us or oppose us in almost every other way, might in fact have feelings very close to our own.
