Insights from a Salaried Portfolio Innovation (SPIN) Scheme Fellowship in inter-professional nursing education

Abstract

In this article we (EC and KS) share our experiences as newly qualified GPs undertaking the Salaried Portfolio Innovation (SPIN) Scheme working within undergraduate nursing education at the University of Roehampton (UoR), alongside the experiences of two undergraduate nursing students (CJ and MT) and the Deputy Dean of Healthcare Education at UoR (PN). We hope this will provide insight for GP trainees, nursing students, and newly qualified GPs and general practice nurses to consider SPIN Fellowship, encourage involvement in educational roles, and highlight the value of inter-professional education.
