Introduction: The modern myths of IAPT

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

In this introduction to the book, I critically analyse the ‘modern myths’ that underpin the rapid rise and expansion of the government’s IAPT programme. I argue these myths serve to obscure rather than reveal the social, cultural, economic and political factors underlying the current rise in mental distress within the UK.
