Abstract

014 saw the introduction of a new Computing curriculum in England, followed by new computer science qualifications for 16- and 18-year-olds and a deadline for the phasing out of the old ICT qualifications. We welcomed the change in the curriculum, but would the new computer science qualification confound expectations and have girls taking it in similar numbers to the old ICT? Would we have schools in poorer communities offering it?
