Abstract
«Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black». With these words, in 1909, automobile pioneer Henry Ford introduced the iconic Model T, a standardized car manufactured on an assembly line and budgeted for middle class patrons. In this paper, we question the extent of Fordism in oil flasks from the early fifth century BCE.
