Abstract
It must be quite perplexing for non-UK scholars to look at what is happening in contem- porary British Higher Education. All that British academics seem to talk about involves weird terms like ‘impact’ and three-letter acronyms (TLAs) like REF (the research excel- lent framework) and TEF (the teaching excellence framework).
