Abstract
Active measures to support high achieving students to be challenged and thrive may create a better school system for all children. The article introduces a book published in January 2021. Based on interviews with students in 1995 and 2020, and with the current and former Swedish Minister of Education as well as researchers in the field, I argue that measures for such children could be one way of providing better education for all children and to reducing school segregation in Sweden.
The students interviewed in 2019 had fewer experiences of being socially stigmatised and were more often given additional challenges in school than the students interviewed in 1995.
