Abstract

This study investigates how sustainability and responsible management practices enhance supply chain resilience in Nigeria. Combining surveys and interviews with 284 professionals, it reveals positive links between green, social, and ethical practices with resilience. While firms benefit from concrete sustainability initiatives, challenges like emissions measurement and community engagement persist. This research, unique in focusing on a developing African economy, underscores the need for integrated sustainability practices through policies, partnerships, and operationalizing goals. It demonstrates the business case for proactive sustainability, offering not just moral benefits but also risk mitigation and continuity advantages. Moving forward, avoiding superficial decoupling and resource commitments are crucial for success.
